The Living Room Cardiff and the Beat the Odds Initiative, along with recovery charity CAIS, the University of South Wales and the Royal College of Psychiatrists launched a groundbreaking event on June 27th to help safeguard young people from the dangers of online gambling.
At the Pierhead Building in Cardiff Bay, school groups from Cardiff and Newport met to participate in a day of activities, presentations and hear real life accounts of recovering gambling addicts sharing their experience.
The event was powerful and transformative for many of the attendees who revealed the extent of gambling advertising in their lives. Most pupils quickly realised a salient truth about the gambling industry: In the long run the house always wins.
